Last week saw the government announce its new Microenterprise Loan Fund Scheme - a €90 million initiative that will make funding available to 5,500 micro-enterprises.

Last week saw the government announce its new Microenterprise Loan Fund Scheme - a €90 million initiative that will make funding available to some 5,500 micro-enterprises over ten years.

The good news for start-ups and small businesses is that the loans available under the scheme will not be limited to the usual 'high-tech' or 'high-potential' operations earmarked for state-led business funding.
