A €1 million fund will help to reinvigorate creative firms in the west of Ireland, writes Elaine O'Regan.

'Research carried out by the WDC has found that there are roughly 5,000 creative businesses in the west'.

Creative businesses are crucial to the economy in the west, according to the Western Development Commission (WDC), which has set up a new €1 million fund to support the sector. The WDC unveiled its Micro-Loan Fund for the Creative Industries last Friday.
