Most of the diamonds bought in Ireland are sourced from ethical suppliers, according to Irish jewellers.

Interest in the diamond trade has been generated by the release of Leonardo DiCaprio’s latest movie, Blood Diamond, which is set in Sierra Leone during the country’s civil war in the 1990s when many diamonds were traded for arms.

Irish jewellers question where diamonds have been sourced when approached by suppliers.
