As smartphone and tablet sales soar, laptop and digital camera sales in Ireland are slumping, new figures for the Irish market show.

Laptop sales in 2012 fell by 12 per cent in Ireland compared to 2011, according to figures from GfK, which tracks product shipments into the country.

The sharp fall in laptop sales comes as figures from Amárach Consulting reveal that one in five Irish adults now owns an iPad or a tablet PC.
