Sysco to expand Irish footprint with Down acquisition

Limerick-based Pallas Foods has agreed to acquire Co Down foodservice supplier Crossgar Foodservice.

Limerick-based Pallas Foods has agreed to acquire Co Down foodservice supplier Crossgar Foodservice.

The Newcastle West company, which is a subsidiary of New York listed global food giant Sysco Corporation, must get Competition Authority approval for the deal before it can be disclosed.

The acquisition will expand Sysco’s presence on the island of Ireland, a statement said. Sysco acquired Pallas Foods in 2009. Both Crossgar Foodservice and Pallas Foods will retain their existing brand identities,...
