A US-based, Irish-born entrepreneur is in the process of raising $50 million for a property fund that will acquire office, retail and residential buildings here.

Limerick man David Greaney, who is the founder and president of Synergy in Boston, said that he expected to make the fund's first acquisition before the end of the year. He was a speaker at the Gateway to Europe forum, which showcased 25 Irish companies in Boston last week.
