Survey shows 2010 disposable income down 5%

Average disposable income in 2010 fell five per cent to €22,168 from 2009's level of €23,326, according to figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) today.

Average disposable income in 2010 fell five per cent to €22,168 from 2009's level of €23,326, according to figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) today.

In a survey on income and living conditions in 2010, the CSO said social transfers rose by four per cent because of increased reliance on unemployment benefit.
