Sheehan Medical Corporation, which is led by Joe Sheehan, a major investor in the Blackrock and Galway Clinics, is seeking to build a 100-bed private hospital in Cork.

Sheehan, an orthopaedic surgeon living in the United States and a brother of Blackrock Clinic founder Jimmy Sheehan, and his son James Sheehan are behind Sheehan Medical Corporation.

They were refused planning permission by Cork County Council last week, but intend to submit a revised planning application...
