A new training simulator for abdominal procedures, designed by two Irish surgeons, is offering medical professionals a low-cost alternative to theatre training.

Professor Walter Prendiville of Dublin’s Coombe Hospital, and Dr Ray O’Sullivan, a consultant senior lecturer in St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny, launched Laprotrain 18 months ago.
