One in every six gas customers is now on a special payment plan, due to fears that customers cannot pay their energy bills.
One in every six gas customers is now on a special payment plan, due to fears that customers cannot pay their energy bills, while the number of cash-strapped homes which have had their gas supply cut off has increased sharply.
The number of homes where supply was disconnected rose by 38 per cent in the second quarter of 2012, compared to the first three months of the year, the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) said.
