Supreme Court overturns earlier ruling on Bewley’s rent dispute

The Supreme Court today overturned a High Court decision which had ruled that rent payable by Bewley’s Cafe on Grafton Street to its landlord, must be allowed to fall to market reflective rates.

The Supreme Court today overturned a High Court decision from March last year which had ruled that rent payable by Bewley’s Cafe on Grafton Street to its landlord Ickendel Limited, must be allowed to fall to market reflective rates.

Bewley’s released a statement after the ruling expressing that the company is “immensely disappointed” and will now consider the judgement with its legal advisors.
