Supermarkets battle for custom

Two of Ireland’s biggest supermarket chains are extending the battle for cheaper prices battleground to include wine sales.

Tesco has a general wine sale on, while Superquinn has a spring French wine sale. And in Dunnes Stores, things are continuing apace with month-long wine promotions. The supermarket joins O’Brien’s Wines - the largest wine shop chain in the Republic - in focusing on special wines that will be prominently discounted each month.
