Sunway considers Budget bid

Sunway Travel is considering a bid for rival company Budget Travel, according to Sunway managing director Tanya Airey. Airey said the Irish-owned company would have a look at Budget’s books, after it was put up for sale last week.

Sunway Travel is considering a bid for rival company Budget Travel, according to Sunway managing director Tanya Airey. Airey said the Irish-owned company would have a look at Budget’s books, after it was put up for sale last week.

Sunway, which acts as a tour operator and travel agency, had an operating profit of more than €223,000 in 2006 and shareholders’ funds of more than €1 million.
