The company behind Sunderland Football Club has just completed a significant fund raising which sees investors pledging up to stg£50 million (€62 million) to the club over the next two years if it is required.

The final figure put in by shareholders will depend on where the club finishes in the Premier League and TV earnings and gate receipts.
