Sun and Mail in contempt over violent disorder charge

The Director of Public Prosecutions has filed a contempt of court action against the companies behind the Irish Sun and the Irish Daily Mail.

The Director of Public Prosecutions has filed a contempt of court action against the companies behind the Irish Sun and the Irish Daily Mail newspapers over aspects of their coverage of the arrest of Freddie Thompson.

The DPP has also named the editors of the two newspapers, Paul Clarkson and Sebastian Hamilton, as part of the proceedings.
