Summer sporting events are providing a boom for streaming services and forcing providers to adapt to increased demand.

The Cork and Waterford Munster hurling championship replay drew a record 30,000 viewers for RTE this month. That match was web-only, but the recent World Cup match between Brazil and Croatia, which was also on TV, drew 15,000 viewers to its web stream.
