EMC, the world’s biggest maker of storage computers, said a subsidiary will cut 900 jobs, exit some business lines and consolidate facilities, sparking the biggest fall in its share price in more than six months.

The US company, which employs more than 2,500 people in Ireland, yesterday forecast full-year profit that trailed analysts’ estimates. The company’s subsidiary VMware said it’s facing a tough first half of the year, sparking a 22 per cent fall...
