Opel has made its Insignia saloon more relevant than ever, writes Shane O'Donoghue.
We’ve grown up thinking an engine of 2.0 litres in capacity is big, unnecessary, too powerful and too thirsty. But it’s 2014 and emissions-based taxation will have been in place for a scarcely believable six years come July. Which means that buyers, if they’re willing to move with the times, can maximise the benefits of the modern turbodiesel without paying any penalty in terms of tax or fuel consumption.
