Struck-off solicitor sent forward for trial

Thomas Byrne, the struck-off solicitor charged with €52 million of theft and fraud relating to over 20 residential properties, has been sent forward for trial.

Thomas Byrne, the struck-off solicitor who was charged with over €50 million of theft and fraud relating to over 20 residential properties, has been sent forward for trial.

The charges against Byrne, who operated a solicitor's office in Walkinstown, all relate to offences allegedly committed between 2004 and 2007, associated with residential properties around Dublin and related to six banks: EBS, Anglo Irish Bank, National Irish Bank, IIB, Irish Nationwide and Bank Of Scotland.
