Ireland’s guaranteed banks will get the final verdict on their futures on Thursday when the Central Bank reveals the results of a set of comprehensive stress tests.

The tests, which are assessing both the capital and funding needs of the banks, will form the foundation for a grand restructuring of the sector that is likely to eliminate one or more institutions and drastically alter the others.
