Strencom opens internet facility in Cork

Data and internet solutions provider Strencom has opened a €3 million data centre in Cork, creating ten jobs.

The facility, in Blackpool Park, is the company’s second.

It opened its first data centre on Penrose Quay in Cork city centre in 2000. Strencom recently announced the roll-out of a new national network infrastructure to cater for the needs of its large-scale corporate, public sector and wholesale customers.

Tim Murphy, managing director of Strencom, said the addition of a second data centre would enable it to offer world-class secure hosting and connectivity services...
