Stone facades, silver service and scarificators
Almost 2,500 treasures will go under the hammer at Sheppard's four-day sale next week, writes Ros Drinkwater.
Abonanza awaits collectors in Sheppard's forthcoming four-day sale, with 2,437 lots making it the largest held in Ireland for 25 years.
Comprising the contents of Clonageera House in Co Laois, the former home of film producer Arthur Lappin, and Carrigmahon House in Monkstown, Co Cork, it offers a unique piece of architectural salvage, with the 19th-century Gothic carved stone facade of the Provincial Bank in Belfast, incorporating an arched and pillared doorway and four window arches.
