State will defend against any Esat claim - Rabbitte
UPDATE: The Supreme Court has cleared the way for two unsuccessful bidders for Ireland's second mobile phone licence to challenge the manner in which it was allocated in 1995 to Esat Digifone.
The State will fully defend any claim against the Exchequer in relation to the awarding of a phone licence to Esat Digifone 16 years ago, Minister for Communications, Pat Rabbitte has said.
The Supreme Court earlier today cleared the way for two unsuccessful bidders for Ireland's second mobile phone licence to proceed with actions challenging the manner in which the licence was allocated in 1995.
