State to pay Mahon Tribunal accountants €200 an hour

The government has agreed to pay fees of €200 an hour to a firm of legal cost accountants to negotiate claims for third-party costs at the Mahon planning tribunal.

The government has agreed to pay fees of €200 an hour to a firm of legal cost accountants to negotiate claims for third-party costs at the Mahon planning tribunal.

Fitzpatricks Legal Costs Accountants was retained by the Chief State Solicitor's Office (CSSO) to negotiate claims for legal costs submitted by scores of witnesses who had given evidence to the tribunal since it was established in 2002.
