State pays €183m a year in rent

The cost of renting buildings for state departments and agencies has risen by more than 80 per cent in the past two years, according to new figures released by the Office of Public Works (OPW).

The cost of renting buildings for state departments and agencies has risen by more than 80 per cent in the past two years, according to new figures released by the Office of Public Works (OPW).

The data, which includes all property rented by the OPW on behalf of government departments and state agencies, contains information about the owner of the property, why it was rented and how much it costs to rent.
