Government-backed deposit options are proving popular with savers this year, with an increase of almost 10 per cent in the amount held in state savings products in the first nine months of 2013.

Government-backed deposit options are proving popular with savers this year, with an increase of almost 10 per cent in the amount held in state savings products in the first nine months of 2013.

Figures from the National Treasure Management Agency (NTMA), which issues state savings products via the post office network, revealed net inflows of Euro 1.5 billion into state savings products between the end of last year and the end of September.
