St Pat's get Wire star's stamp of approval

St Patrick's Athletic are the latest Irish sports team to receive social media support from a celebrity. Wendell Pierce, best known for playing police detective Bunk Moreland in the hugely acclaimed HBO crime drama The Wire, tweeted congratulations to Pats after they won the League of Ireland title.

Pierce became a fan of the Dublin club after learning they shared a nickname with his favourite NFL gridiron team, the New Orleans Saints.
