The 79th Geneva Motor Show will open its doors on March 5, at a time when the world motor industry is in unprecedented turmoil. The crisis facing car manufacturers has hit with alarming speed. However, the industry works on replacement cycles of between five and seven years, so the models on show at Geneva will have been conceived in better times.

The move towards greener motoring will once again dominate.
