Sports clubs should think about securing their long-term futures by availing of the value of their land, a conference in Portlaoise heard last weekend.

Moving the Goalposts, hosted by experts from law firm William Fry and property consultants Knight Frank, discussed the issues surrounding the sale of club lands to secure finances and upgrade facilities, and outlined the options and challenges facing clubs during the relocation process.
