Businesses have seen an increase in staff dipping their fingers in the till over the past year, as a direct knock-on from the recession, retail security experts have confirmed.

And new figures out this week are expected to show an increase of almost 10 per cent in shrinkage - half of which is caused by staff stealing - in Irish companies in 2012.
