Spar Ireland to unveil cut-price product range

Spar Ireland will introduce a new line of cut-price products to more than 100 stores nationwide at the end of this month, writes Nicola Cooke.

The move is a bid to compete with discount retailers and increase its own brand offerings. The company, which has 465 stores in Ireland, is launching the new line of 50 products because its own brand label sales have grown 12.4 per cent year onyear.

The new S-Budget line will be on average 40 per cent cheaper than leading brands.
