Spain's jobless rate drops .. to 26.3%

Spain's unemployment rate has fallen for the first time in two years in the second quarter, although it remains at 26.3 per cent.

Spain's unemployment rate has fallen for the first time in two years in the second quarter, although it remains at 26.3 per cent.

The drop in the three months to the end of June compares with a rtate of 27.2 per cent in the first quarter.

Economists had expected the rate to remain unchanged. It is three times higher than the period before the economic slump began, in 2008.
