Solicitor struck off after funds transfer

Waterford solicitor Gabrielle Dalton has been struck off the roll of solicitors for wrongly transferring almost €100,000 from her client account to her office account.

Waterford solicitor Gabrielle Dalton has been struck off the roll of solicitors for wrongly transferring almost €100,000 from her client account to her office account.

Dalton, formerly practising in Otteran Place, South Parade, Waterford, was found guilty of misconduct by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal last February.

She had breached solicitors' accounting regulations by withdrawing €68,970 from the client account in 2007 and a further €27,830 in 2008. She had also improperly withdrawn €8,711 in fees...
