The only property-based tax relief scheme still open for new entrants is a scheme that covers parts of Taoiseach Brian Cowen’s Laois-Offaly constituency.

The mid-Shannon Corridor Tourism Infrastructure Scheme was introduced by Cowen in 2007 when he was Minister for Finance.

It offers tax relief for building projects considered to promote tourism in the Shannon region.
