Software firm nets €49m in pre-tax profits

Business Objects, a French software firm that set up an operations centre in Dublin in 2004, made a pre-tax profit of €49million in Ireland in 2005.

Business Objects Software, which is incorporated in Dublin, had a turnover of €365.2 million in 2005, an increase of almost 26 per cent on the 2004 figure of €290.2 million.

The firm had made a pretax loss of almost €9.2 million in 2004,butwent into the black in 2005 due to increased turnover. The 2005 profit wiped out historic losses at Business Objects and left the company with an accumulated profit of €15.1 million at the end of 2005....
