Iona founder Chris Horn has challenged the Irish software industry to make a breakthrough in improving the standard of software design.

Horn, who is currently president of Engineers Ireland, will use his presidential address next week in Dublin to argue that a strong theoretical foundation for software development and maintenance has yet to emerge.
