Soft-ex completes turnaround

Dublin firm Soft-ex has appointed Ian Sparling as chief executive, replacing telecoms industry veteran Nick Koumarianos, who remains chairman of the firm.

Koumarianos joined Soft-ex as chairman in 2000 and later became acting chief executive, leading a turnaround of the firm in the aftermath of the downturn in the technology sector. Sparling has been chief financial officer and general manager of Soft-ex since 2001.

Soft-ex sells software to monitor and manage the traffic on telecoms networks and has deals with British Telecom and KPN, the Dutch telco. The company employs about 55 people and will be profitable on revenue...
