Smyth outbid Carroll by €2.5m for Square

Less than €2.5 million separated the winning €320 million bid of property developer Noel Smyth for a substantial stake in The Square shopping centre in Tallaght from the underbidder and his long-time rival, Liam Carroll.

Less than €2.5 million separated the winning €320 million bid of property developer Noel Smyth for a substantial stake in The Square shopping centre in Tallaght from the underbidder and his long-time rival, Liam Carroll.

Smyth’s development company Alburn is buying the 68 units in the centre that were owned by Dublin wealth management firm Quinlan Private in a move that gives Smyth effective control of the centre.
