Smurfit Kappa stages late rally to close at 5 year high

Dublin-based packaging giant Smurfit Kappa saw its shares soar in the last minutes of trading on the markets today.

Dublin-based packaging giant Smurfit Kappa saw its shares soar in the last minutes of trading on the markets today.

The share price of the company jumped 50 cent, or 4.8 per cent. That meant that the company closed the day at its highest level since January 11th, 2008.

There was no indication of the share price rise in advance of it kicking off at 4.25pm, just 20 minutes before the markets closed.
