Smurfit Kappa is believed to be close to finalising plans to float the company on the stock exchange. Market sources believe details could be announced with the company’s fourth quarter results this Wednesday or shortly afterwards.
Michael Smurfit, is to step down from his position as chairman ahead of the initial public offering (IPO) and it is expected that he will be replaced by Sean Fitzpatrick, chairman of Anglo Irish Bank.
