SMEs seek to reverse AIB fee increases

Pressure is mounting on AIB to reverse a decision to increase lodgement fees that would add between €5,000 and €15,000 to annual transaction costs for many small firms.

Pressure is mounting on state-owned AIB to reverse a decision to increase lodgement fees that would add between €5,000 and €15,000 to annual transaction costs for many small businesses.

Industry groups Retail Excellence Ireland, RGData and the Convenience Stores and Newsagents Association (CSNA) have individually sought meetings with AIB in relation to the revised fee structure, communicated in a letter from the bank earlier this month.
