SME lending falls 1.4% in second quarter

Lending to non-financial, non-property related SMEs by Irish resident credit institutions fell by 1.4 per cent or €390 million over the second quarter, according to figures issued by the Central Bank.

Lending to non-financial, non-property related SMEs by Irish resident credit institutions fell by 1.4 per cent or €390 million over the second quarter, according to figures issued by the Central Bank.

That brought the drop in the year to the end of June to €1.2 billion or 4.6 per cent.

The total outstanding amount of lending to SMEs in these sectors was €26.6 billion.
