SME lending drops in Q2-CBank

Bank lending to the small to medium enterprise sector has dropped further in the second quarter of 2011, according to data released by the Central Bank of Ireland.

Bank lending to the small to medium enterprise sector has dropped further in the second quarter of 2011, according to data released by the Central Bank of Ireland.

The bank said lending to non-financial, non-property related SMEs declined by 891 million euro over the quarter (3.3 per cent), and 3.2 billion euro over the year (9.9 per cent).

This follows an annual decline of 8.3 per cent in Q1 2011.
