Despite the fact that Ireland didn’t qualify, almost half the population (47 per cent) still plan to watch this year’s FIFA World Cup, or at least have it on the TV — providing a welcome boost for retailers.
Research published today by Webloyalty found that snacks (19 per cent), pizza and other fast food items (18 per cent) topped the list of intended purchases for Irish consumers.
