Small Firms: What the budget means for businesses
Four industry players give their reaction to the budget, and what it will mean for small firms.
Budget 2012 contains many welcome measures that will support small business establishment and development. Specifically, I welcome the extension of the corporate tax break for start-ups to 2014, foreign earnings deductions to support companies entering emerging markets and the improvements to the R&D tax credit scheme.
However, I strongly condemn the 2 per cent increase in the higher rate of Vat, as it will further kill off consumer sentiment.
