Small firms say report shows banks too averse to risk

A report commissioned by the Department of Finance has found that 36 per cent of small and medium enterprises requested bank credit in the period April-September 2011.

Overall 54 per cent of credit applications were approved, 23 per cent of credit applications were declined and 23 per cent of credit applications were still pending.
