Slovenia bonds hit record as Italian yields touch 7 per cent

Italian bond yields rose above 7 per cent as Mario Monti faced political resistance on forming a cabinet for his so-called technocrat government.

Slovenia has no plans to seek assistance from abroad after yields on the country’s debt hit a record, said the country’s outgoing Minister for European Union and Development.

Slovenia’s 10-year government notes dropped the most on record on November 11th, pushing the yield to 7.77 per cent. The yield today continued to exceed 7 per cent and was at 7.249 per cent a short time ago, according to Bloomberg data.
