Slaney Meats, a holding company controlled by low-profile Wexford businessman Bert Allen, had retained losses of more than €8 million at the end of last year.
The firm, which is the holding vehicle for his various meat companies, had negative shareholders' funds of €5.1 million for the year ending December 31, 2004, according to accounts just filed.
Slaney Proteins, the main trading company in the group, is unlimited and therefore not obliged to file public accounts.
