The senior trade union official at the centre of the 'Siptu slush fund' controversy refused to hand over a report drafted by the accountancy firm Grant Thornton to the state's spending watchdog.

Matt Merrigan, a senior Siptu official who administered the €5 million fund, commissioned Grant Thornton to examine all records in relation to the fund when details about it became public in 2010.
