Siptu, the union supporting staff in heated disputes at Aer Lingus and at Bausch and Lomb, lost more than €800,000 in contributions in 2013 as membership fell by 8,600 to 205,770, its latest accounts show.

Expenses on travel, meals and transport by the union’s 324 staff came in at €1.78 million or €5,400 per employee. There was also an outlay of €344,628 on new cars.
